Original alternators have been replaced with 90, 100, 120 or 130-ampere models. Alternator controls, both automatic and manual, and energy monitors have been installed. One member, who cruised in Mexico, decided not to use the engine to charge batteries and instead hooked a 70-ampere alternator to a 5 horsepower gasoline engine.
